AT-HOME TRAINING TIPS!
Training at home can be tricky. Everyone begins with the idea that they’ll be able to quietly slip away and knock out a quick workout in the convenience of their own home. With kids or pets, your significant other, and the natural pull to either clean or wind down for the day, this doesn’t always play out as planned. Here are some great ways to make sure you set the scene to get in a great workout:
🗓 Create a schedule! – Your home is a relaxing place—somewhere you’re happy to get to after a long day. However, too much comfort can easily inhibit the desire to work out. Take a moment to focus on structuring a workout routine with specific dates and times. Treat your workout time like an appointment. Making your health a consistent priority will be what drives you closer to achieving the goals you have set.
✴️ Make the space – It’s important to have somewhere to go when it’s time to sweat. Find an area in your home and dedicate it to your health and wellness. Store all your workout equipment here, making sure it’s easy for you to access. Don’t forget some bottled water so you don’t have to leave your area once you’ve started your workout, and either a radio or a phone charger so your music lasts!
📵 PHONE ON SILENT – This tip is just what it sounds like and will probably be the most effective tip to ensure workout success. Flip the silent (Do Not Disturb) switch and disconnect temporarily, preventing distractions that range from social media notifications to someone trying to contact you about your car's extended warranty. Establish that your health is the most important thing at the moment.
